I will testify I loved you and I’m not ashamed to be your comrade

70’s being the most vibrant era of our history, rather quoting it as the “Golden era”, it was a time when actually people started to express themselves in numerous ways, indulging with one another on a regular basis whether it be cinemas, political rallies, shrines etc. All this frenzy was a result of a new democratic government coming to power under a charismatic and influential populist single political figure ZAB.

So the choice of object i.e. the Post box in itself clearly reflects upon the coming together of individuals in society at that time when the object itself was the primary mode of communication in such a vibrant, terror free and accommodative state.

Multiple post boxes in various sizes, placed together in a space depict the various classes of society coming into contact, in a way mingling with one another. The upper and lower classes shared similar interests, e.g. Shrine Culture in particular that actually brought the rich close to the poor. Even REPETITION OF FORM in the installation can strongly be linked to the element of Repetition in Sufism.

Apart from that I strongly relate the form of a post box to that of the human body in terms of anatomy as the structure consists of a head, a back/support and the base upon which the post box stands.

In short I am portraying these post boxes as individuals belonging to a particular class of society thus having an INDIVIDUAL IDENTITY and an overall COLLECTIVE IDENTITY, correlating itto INDIVIDUAL FORM of a post box and then the COLLECTIVE FORM of all post boxes placed in the space.
